SUMMER-READING MASTERY PRE-8

A summer reading course is an excellent way for a student to satisfy their summer reading requirement. Please know before registering that attendance for every class is expected and necessary to earn class credit. If you are not able to commit to attending all classes during a session, please investigate taking the class during the other session or completing the reading requirement on your own. Also, it is not possible to take part of a course during one session and part in the other.

This three-week non-credit course is designed for incoming eighth graders. Successfully completing the course (and passing the summer reading quizzes and tests on any book studied in the class) will satisfy the summer reading requirement for students enrolled in MUS; these students will be exempt from the summer reading tests required of all other students in the fall. 

Please note that students will do most of the reading at home, as daily homework; class time will be spent in discussion, instruction, enrichment, and assessment.
